MHT CET 2026 Session 2 — Last 7 Days Strategy and Exam Tips from Newton's Academy, Mulund

MHT CET 2026 Session 2 is almost here.

The MHT CET Session 2 PCB exam is on May 10 and 11, and the PCM exam runs from May 12 to 21, 2026. If you are a student in Mulund or anywhere in Maharashtra appearing for Session 2 - you have one week left.

This is not the time to start new chapters. This is the time to be focused, strategic, and calm.

At Newton's Academy in Mulund West, we coach MHT CET students every year. Here is exactly what our faculty recommends for the final 7 days before MHT CET Session 2.

Why Session 2 Is a Big Opportunity

This is the first time CET Cell is offering a second attempt for MHT CET. This means two things for you:

If you appeared in Session 1 - Session 2 is your chance to improve your percentile. Your best score from both sessions will be considered for admission. Use this opportunity wisely.

If you are appearing for the first time in Session 2 - you have had extra weeks to prepare compared to Session 1 students. That is an advantage. Use it.

Understanding the Exam Pattern

Before your last week strategy, make sure you know exactly what you are walking into:

  • Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) - online
  • Shifts: Morning 9 AM to 12 PM | Afternoon 2 PM to 5 PM
  • Subjects: PCM Group - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics | PCB Group - Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  • Syllabus Weightage: 80% from Class 12 topics | 20% from Class 11 topics
  • Marking: +2 for correct answer | No negative marking
  • Total Questions: 150 (50 per subject)

The no negative marking rule is critical - it means you should attempt every single question. Never leave a question blank in MHT CET.

The 7-Day Last Week Strategy

Day 1 and 2 - Revise Your Strongest Chapters

Go back to the chapters where you score the most. Revise them thoroughly - formulae, key concepts, solved examples. Attempt one previous year MHT CET paper under timed conditions. Spend equal time analyzing what went wrong.

Day 3 and 4 - Target High Weightage Weak Topics

Since the syllabus gives 80% weightage to Class 12 topics, focus your weak area revision on Class 12 chapters first. Pick the 2-3 topics in each subject where you are losing the most marks and do a focused 2-hour session on each.

Day 5 - Full Mock Test

Attempt a complete full-length MHT CET mock test in the same shift timing as your actual exam - either morning or afternoon. Treat it exactly like the real exam. Analyze the results carefully. Do not attempt another new topic after this.

Day 6 - Light Revision Only

Formula sheets, key reactions in Chemistry, important theorems in Mathematics, diagrams in Biology. Light revision only - no new topics, no new mock tests. Sleep early.

Day 7 (Day Before Exam) - Rest

Keep your hall ticket and ID proof ready the night before. Eat well. Sleep for at least 7 to 8 hours. Your brain performs significantly better when it is rested. This is not optional - it is strategy.

Subject-Wise Tips for MHT CET Session 2

Physics - Focus on These High Weightage Topics

  • Rotational Motion
  • Electromagnetic Induction
  • Electrostatics
  • Semiconductor Devices
  • Wave Optics and Ray Optics
  • Gravitation and Laws of Motion

MHT CET Physics questions are directly based on Maharashtra State Board examples and exercises. If you have solved every textbook exercise and example, you are already well prepared for 70% of the Physics paper.

Chemistry - Your Quickest Scoring Subject

  • Solid State and Solutions
  • Electrochemistry and Chemical Kinetics
  • Coordination Compounds and d-f Block Elements
  • Halogen Derivatives and Alcohols, Phenols, Ethers
  • Aldehydes, Ketones, Carboxylic Acids
  • Amines and Biomolecules

Inorganic and Organic Chemistry together account for the majority of MHT CET Chemistry questions. Do not neglect Physical Chemistry - Electrochemistry and Chemical Kinetics appear every year without fail.

Mathematics - Where Your Percentile Is Decided

  • Integration and Differential Equations
  • Continuity and Differentiability
  • Vectors and 3D Geometry
  • Probability Distribution
  • Matrices
  • Conics - Circles, Parabola, Ellipse, Hyperbola

Mathematics is where most students in Maharashtra either gain or lose percentile points. Since there is no negative marking — attempt every Mathematics question. Even if you are not 100% sure, eliminate wrong options and make an educated attempt.

Biology (PCB Group) - Cover NCERT Completely

  • Human Physiology - Digestion, Circulation, Excretion, Reproduction
  • Plant Physiology
  • Genetics and Evolution
  • Ecology and Ecosystems
  • Cell Biology and Biotechnology

MHT CET Biology is almost entirely NCERT-based. If you know your NCERT diagrams, definitions, and processes - you will score well. Pay special attention to diagrams - they appear as image-based questions in the CBT format.

Exam Day Tips - From Newton's Academy, Mulund

Before You Leave Home

  • Hall ticket and photo ID - check the night before, not the morning of
  • Reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes before your reporting time
  • Carry a water bottle - hydration directly affects concentration
  • Eat a light meal before the exam - avoid heavy food

During the Exam

  • Read every question carefully before answering - MHT CET questions are language-sensitive
  • Since there is no negative marking - attempt every single question without exception
  • Do not spend more than 90 seconds on any one question - mark it and come back
  • In Mathematics, write rough calculations quickly before entering the answer on screen
  • Manage your 3 hours as 55 to 60 minutes per subject

If You Have Both Morning and Afternoon Shifts Some students may have their exam in the afternoon shift. Use the morning to do a light revision of key formulae - not a full study session. Eat lunch, rest for 30 minutes, and walk into the exam hall fresh.
